THE idea for this blog came from one of my good friends always saying to me "Nothing gets you excited!" "Your not passionate about anything!". All of this was of course because I refused to put my life on hold every time a football match came on :p

I then sat down and realized that he was right, I don't have any hobbies, I don't follow any sports, definitely not up for the headache that is politics, and my life is cluttered enough without me "collecting" anything. But I realized that he couldn't be right, mainly because I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. So after some thought, it hit me, I was passionate about innovation and great ideas!

Whenever I read about a cool new start up, or invention, or a new artist that was gaining recognition I would get excited. Whenever one of my friends came to me with an idea for a new business they wanted to start I couldn't wait to brainstorm with them and work on their business plans. My whole career has been in different start ups and business ventures for a reason, I even got my masters in entrepreneurship. So while it may not be a hobby in the traditional sense, I've decided it was going to be mine.

Hence Brightlumba was born, as a place where I could share the different ideas that I think are really cool and want to shine a light on.
